Nutrient Recycling for Regional Sustainability
Mobilizing a Circular Economy:
Nature-Based solutions in coastal zones by
Transforming beach wrack into a soil amendment and sand dune stabilizer
Join us for the final conference of the ECONUT project, where we present key insights, results, and future opportunities for turning beach wrack into a valuable resource.
Across Europe, coastal regions face growing challenges related to beach wrack accumulation. At the same time, there is an urgent need to transition towards more circular, resource-efficient systems. ECONUT explores how these challenges can be connected – transforming what is often seen as waste into a resource for nutrient recycling, soil improvement, and regional sustainability.
During this conference, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry representatives will come together to:
- Share knowledge on coastal ecosystems and nutrient cycles
- Present innovative methods for processing and utilizing beach wrack
- Explore nature-based solutions for climate resilience
- Discuss circular business models and community-based approaches
- Highlight results from pilot cases and practical implementations
The event will feature keynote speakers, expert presentations, and interactive discussions, offering both scientific insights and real-world applications.
